Dashboard Roles

The four roles that govern who can see and do what in a server's Mokito dashboard — and how to assign or revoke each one.

Overview

When you add Mokito to a Discord server, the server owner automatically becomes the Owner role in the Mokito dashboard. The owner can then grant three additional roles to other members of the server: Manager, Support Team, and Moderator. Each role sees a different slice of the dashboard and can take a different set of actions.

Roles are per-server. Being a Manager in one server does not give you any access in another server. A member can hold more than one role in the same server, but only the highest-ranking role is shown on the My Servers page (see Role Precedence below).

There is no limit on the number of managers, support team members, or moderators a single server can have.

These are Mokito roles, not Discord roles. The four roles here only control access to the Mokito web dashboard. They are separate from any Discord permissions or Discord roles a member may have in your server.

Role Precedence

When a member holds more than one role in the same server, Mokito uses a single, fixed precedence to decide which dashboard they see and which label appears on the My Servers page:

Owner > Manager > Support Team > Moderator > Member

The highest role a member holds wins. For example, a member who is both a Manager and a Moderator is treated as a Manager — they see the full manager dashboard, and the My Servers page shows the "Manager" badge. A member who is both Support Team and Moderator is treated as Support Team.

Owners are never automatically counted as managers, support team, or moderators. Each role is checked independently, so you can grant a narrow role to someone who is already an owner or manager without expanding their access.

The layout follows the role, not the page. A support team member who tries to open a page they cannot access (for example, Bot Settings) will be turned away — the stripped-down sidebar they see does not even link to those pages.

Owner

The Owner is the Discord server owner. This role is assigned automatically when Mokito joins a server — it is the Discord account that owns the server, and it cannot be reassigned from within Mokito. If server ownership is transferred in Discord, Mokito picks up the new owner the next time guild data is refreshed.

The Owner sees the full guild dashboard with every category and every page, including the Premium subscription page. Owners can configure every Mokito feature for the server.

What an owner can do

Manager

A Manager is a member the Owner has trusted with full access to the Mokito dashboard for that server. Managers see the same dashboard as the owner — the full sidebar with every category and every page — and can configure every Mokito feature, just like the owner.

The difference between Owner and Manager is small: the owner is determined by Discord, while managers are added and removed from the dashboard. Managers cannot manage the Premium subscription billing (that stays with the owner), but they can view the Premium features page.

What a manager can do

Assign or revoke a manager

Only the server owner (or an existing manager) can add or remove managers. The management page lives under Members → Managers in the guild dashboard sidebar.

To add a manager:

  1. Open the dashboard for your server.
  2. In the sidebar, expand Members and click Managers.
  3. In the Add Manager widget, start typing a member's username, display name, or Discord ID. The list filters as you type; only current members of your server are shown.
  4. Select the member and click Add Manager.

The server owner and anyone who is already a manager are excluded from the list — you cannot add the owner or a current manager as a manager again.

To remove a manager:

  1. On the same Managers page, find the manager in the Current Managers table.
  2. Click Remove. A confirmation modal appears.
  3. Confirm the removal. The member immediately loses access to the dashboard for this server.
Removing a manager is instant. The member loses dashboard access the next time they open a page. They keep their Discord membership in your server — only the Mokito manager role is removed.

Support Team

The Support Team role is a read-only role for members who need to see ticket history and server stats without being able to change anything. It is designed for support staff who review tickets and transcripts but do not configure the bot.

Support team members see a stripped-down dashboard with only two sections in the sidebar.

Not allowed:

Support team members do not see any link to member management, ticket panels, bot settings, or any other guild configuration — those entries are simply absent from their sidebar.

Assign or revoke a support team member

Only the server owner or a manager can add or remove support team members. The management page lives under Members → Support Team in the guild dashboard sidebar.

To add a support team member:

  1. Open the dashboard for your server.
  2. In the sidebar, expand Members and click Support Team.
  3. In the Add Support Team member widget, start typing a member's username, display name, or Discord ID.
  4. Select the member and click Add.

The server owner, current managers, and current support team members are excluded from the list — a member cannot hold the support team role and the manager role at the same time.

To remove a support team member:

  1. On the same Support Team page, find the member in the Current Support Team table.
  2. Click Remove. A confirmation modal appears.
  3. Confirm the removal. The member immediately loses access to the dashboard for this server.

Moderator

The Moderator role is a read-only role for members who need to review moderation activity and ticket transcripts. It is designed for moderators who need oversight of moderation logs and reports without the ability to change server settings.

Moderators see a stripped-down dashboard with three sections in the sidebar.

Assign or revoke a moderator

Only the server owner or a manager can add or remove moderators. The management page lives under Members → Moderators in the guild dashboard sidebar.

To add a moderator:

  1. Open the dashboard for your server.
  2. In the sidebar, expand Members and click Moderators.
  3. In the Add Moderator widget, start typing a member's username, display name, or Discord ID.
  4. Select the member and click Add.

The server owner, current managers, current support team members, and current moderators are excluded from the list — a member cannot hold the moderator role alongside another role.

To remove a moderator:

  1. On the same Moderators page, find the member in the Current Moderators table.
  2. Click Remove. A confirmation modal appears.
  3. Confirm the removal. The member immediately loses access to the dashboard for this server.

Member

Every other member of your Discord server — anyone who is not the owner, a manager, on the support team, or a designated moderator — has the Member role. Members see a separate, community-facing dashboard with member features (leaderboards, polls, suggestions, profile, and more). They do not see any server administration pages.

A server appears on a member's My Servers page with a "Member" badge, and the Open button points to the member-facing dashboard — not the admin dashboard.

Previewing the member view

Owners, managers, support team members, and moderators can preview what a regular member sees by clicking View as Member on the My Servers page. This opens the member-facing dashboard for the same server, so role-holders can see exactly what a plain member would see. Switching back is a single click.
