Pinned Messages — Overview Premium

Keep one or more messages pinned to the bottom of a channel — every time someone talks in that channel, Mokito deletes the old copy and reposts it so your pinned message is always the most recent one.

Overview

Pinned Messages are a Mokito Premium feature. A pinned message is a message you compose in the web panel (or grab from an existing channel message with /pin-message) that Mokito keeps at the bottom of a target channel. Whenever a non-bot message arrives in that channel, Mokito deletes its previous copy and posts a fresh one — so the pinned message is always the last thing members see when they open the channel.

This is useful for channel rules, welcome notices, announcements, event reminders, or any message you want every visitor to read before they scroll. You can pin up to 10 messages per server, each in its own channel, or several in the same channel.

Pinned Messages live under Utility → Pinned Messages in the guild dashboard. Only the server owner and managers can create, edit, resend, and delete pinned messages. Members can create one from Discord with /pin-message (subject to the same Premium and limit checks).

How pinning works

When you create a pinned message, Mokito posts your content to the chosen channel right away. From then on, every time a real member sends a message in that channel, Mokito deletes its previous pinned copy and posts a new one — so the pinned message re-appears at the bottom, below the member's message.

The pinned message is not the same as Discord's native "Pin Message" feature. Discord's native pins live in a separate pinned-messages panel; Mokito's pinned messages stay in the channel itself, always as the most recent message.

Delete and repost

Reposting is event-driven — it happens the moment a non-bot message arrives in the pinned channel. Mokito does not repost on a timer. If the channel is quiet, the pinned copy simply stays where it is until the next message arrives.

Mokito skips its own messages when deciding whether to repost, so there is no infinite loop — a repost never triggers another repost. Bot messages from other bots are also skipped.

Which channels can be pinned

Pinned messages can only live in text channels and announcement channels. Threads, voice channels, stage channels, forum channels, and category channels cannot be pinned. The channel picker in the create/edit form only lists text and announcement channels.

The Pinned Messages Page

The Utility → Pinned Messages page in the guild dashboard shows a hero with your active count out of 10, a "New Pinned Message" button (when you can create more), and a table of every pinned message in the server, newest first.

Locked without Premium

If the server does not have Mokito Premium, the page shows a Premium lock instead of the list and button. The lock explains that Pinned Messages are a Premium feature and links to the Premium page. Existing pinned messages are preserved underneath the lock, but the bot will not repost them until the server resubscribes.

The pinned messages list

For premium servers, the table lists every pinned message with the following columns:

ColumnWhat it shows
ChannelThe channel the pinned message lives in, shown as #channel-name.
ContentA short preview of the message text (first 80 characters), or "(empty)" if the message has no text and only an embed.
EmbedYes/No — whether the pinned message includes an embed.
Live messageThe Discord message ID of the current live copy, as a clickable link straight to that message. "Not posted yet" if the message has been saved but Mokito hasn't posted a live copy yet.
StatusActive or Paused.
ActionsEdit, Resend, and Delete buttons (see below).

Create a Pinned Message

Click New Pinned Message to open the create form. The form has a destination channel, optional message text, and an optional embed with a live preview. At least one of message text or an embed must be filled in — an empty pinned message is not allowed.

Destination channel

Pick the channel where the pinned message will live. The field is a searchable dropdown that lists every text and announcement channel Mokito has synced for your server. Type a channel name to filter, or select one from the list. If the list is empty, refresh your server's channels first from the guild overview page.

Message content

The message text that appears above any embed. Up to 2000 characters. Optional if you add an embed, but required if you don't — the message must contain something.

Add an Embed

Toggle Add an Embed to reveal the embed builder. The embed appears below the message text in Discord. Every embed field is optional — leave blank what you don't want. The available fields are:

FieldWhat it meansLimit
ColorThe colored bar on the left side of the embed. Hex color, e.g. #5865F2.7 characters
TimestampA timestamp shown in the embed footer.Date + time
Author name / URL / icon URLThe small author block at the top of the embed.256 / 512 / 512
Title / Title URLThe embed title, clickable if a URL is set.256 / 512
DescriptionThe main body text of the embed.4096
Image URL / Thumbnail URLA large image and a small thumbnail.512 / 512
Footer text / Footer icon URLThe small footer block at the bottom.2048 / 512
FieldsDynamic name/value pairs, each with an inline toggle. Add as many as you need with the Add field button.256 name / 1024 value each

A live preview on the right shows exactly what the embed will look like in Discord as you fill in the fields. When you save, Mokito posts the message (text + embed) to the chosen channel immediately, and the pinned message becomes active.

Saving posts to Discord. When you create a pinned message, Mokito posts the first live copy to the channel right away. If the post fails (for example, Mokito lacks permission to send in that channel), the pinned message is still saved — you can resend it from the list once permissions are fixed.

Edit a Pinned Message

Click Edit on any pinned message row to reopen the same form, pre-filled with the current channel, content, and embed. Change any field and save. On save, Mokito deletes the old live copy from Discord and posts the updated version — the pinned message is reposted immediately, so members see the new content right away.

You can change the destination channel when editing. Mokito will delete the live copy from the old channel and post the new copy in the new channel.

Resend a Pinned Message

Click Resend to delete the current live copy (if any) and post a fresh copy to the channel. A confirmation modal opens first — confirm to proceed. Resend is useful when:

Resend does not change the saved content, channel, or embed — it only re-posts the current saved state.

Delete a Pinned Message

Click Delete to remove a pinned message permanently. A confirmation modal opens first — confirm to proceed. Deleting a pinned message:

Deletion is permanent. Deleting a pinned message cannot be undone. The saved content and embed are discarded. If you want to re-create it, use New Pinned Message and compose it again.

The Delete button is available even when the server does not have Premium — this lets you clean up existing pinned messages after a subscription lapses. Edit and Resend are locked without Premium.

When Premium lapses

If the server's Premium subscription lapses, pinned messages behave gracefully:

Limits & Edge Cases

LimitValue
Active pinned messages per server10. Applies across all channels. Saving the 11th is blocked until one is deleted.
Message content lengthUp to 2000 characters. Optional if an embed is added.
EmbedOptional. One embed per pinned message, with up to 25 fields. All Discord embed limits apply (256 title, 4096 description, 6000 total chars).
Supported channel typesText channels and announcement channels only.
Repost triggerEvent-driven — repost happens when a non-bot member message arrives in the pinned channel. No timer-based reposting.
Bot messagesSkipped — bot messages (including Mokito's own reposts) never trigger a repost.
Per-server scopePinned messages belong to the server they were created in. A pinned message in one server does not appear in another.
PermissionsMokito must have Send Messages and Manage Messages (to delete its old copy) in the target channel. If either is missing, the post or repost fails silently and the pinned message stays saved.
Premium requiredCreating, editing, resending, and the auto-repost loop all require Mokito Premium. Without Premium, existing pinned messages are preserved but inactive; delete is the only management action available.
