Temporary Voice — Overview Premium

Give every member their own temporary voice channel they can control — rename, lock, hide, transfer, and more. Channels appear when needed and disappear when empty.

Overview

Temporary Voice is a Mokito Premium feature that creates short-lived, member-controlled voice channels in your Discord server. When a member joins a "Join to Create" hub channel, Mokito instantly creates a new voice channel for them, moves them into it, and unmutes them. The member becomes the channel owner and can manage it with Discord slash commands or the ephemeral control panel.

When the last person leaves, the channel is automatically deleted (immediately or after a configurable grace period). No clutter, no manual cleanup.

Temporary Voice lives under the Temporary Voice sidebar category in the guild dashboard (gold/premium styling, placed after Steam Links). Only the server owner and managers can configure it.

What is Temporary Voice

Temporary Voice combines four pieces:

How it works

The Join to Create hub

A "Join to Create" hub is a regular Discord voice channel that Mokito watches. Nobody can talk in the hub — @everyone is denied the Speak permission, and members who join are server-muted until they're moved to their own channel. The hub has a user limit of 1 so only one person waits at a time.

If a required role is configured in the Settings page, only members with that role can see and join the hub. Staff roles always have full access.

Spawning a temp channel

When a member joins the hub:

  1. Mokito server-mutes the member (so they can't talk in the hub).
  2. Mokito creates a new voice channel via the Discord API, using the setup's type and name template.
  3. Permission overwrites are applied: @everyone is denied View + Connect; the required role (if set) can see the channel; staff roles always have full access; the owner gets full manage permissions.
  4. The member is moved from the hub into the new channel and unmuted.
  5. A welcome embed is posted to the channel's text chat, listing every available /voice-* command.

Channel deletion

When the last member leaves a temp channel, Mokito deletes it. The timing depends on the deletion grace period setting:

If a member abandons a channel (leaves while others are still in it), the channel stays until everyone leaves. Other members can claim ownership with /voice-claim.

Premium requirement

Temporary Voice is a 100% Premium feature. Every capability — join channels, voice commands, toggles, role overrides, LFM, logging — requires an active Mokito Premium subscription for the server. Non-premium servers see a locked page that redirects to the Premium page.

When Premium lapses

If a server loses Premium while temp channels are active:
